AASR Valley of New York City : About Us | ||
ABOUT US Welcome to the Valley of New York City, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite for the Northern Jurisdiction. Scottish Rite in the Valley of New York City is great and wonderful experience that is open to all. There are many things on this site that will give you a glimpse into the type of organization we are. More then an organization, the Valley of NYC is a true brotherhood experience exemplifying the Knowledge and tenets of Freemasonry: Brotherly Love, Charity, & Truth. There are many opportunities for candidates who enter Scottish Rite to be active in the body right from the beginning. From taking parts in our Drama's, Education (Course, Lectures, Small Talks, etc.), Valley and Family events, to just supporting the Valley, everyone has an opportunity to contribute to the growing success and greatness of Scottish Rite in NYC. Our reputation as being a Valley of innovative ideas and proactive approach to problems affecting many of our organizations is becoming known to other Valleys in the Northern Jurisdiction. From the incorporation of a dress code for the Valley (Sashes and Hats), trips to other valleys, hosting other valleys, member retention, to changing the "business as usual mentality" of doing things, the Valley of New York City is doing its part to push Scottish Rite to the Pinnacle of Masonic Higher learning. Known to many as the college of Freemasonry, Scottish Rite gives us more than just the unveiling of universal Truths, it allows us to share Brotherly Love and experience the ultimate Fraternal feeling that is lacking in today's organizations. As you browse this site notice the closeness and love that is displayed in all our events. From our annual Family Life Program, Dramas, and Scottish Rite Charities (Leon M. Abbot Scholarships, Schizophrenia Research, National Heritage Museum, and the 32 ° Masonic Learning Center for Children which help children with Dyslexia), once you catch the Scottish Rite experience you will truly understand the meaning of Brotherhood and Charity. |
